Instead, you lose clothing each time you are hit. The game also removed the charge attacks and heart based life system. You only start the game with Little Ninja, Bomber Bob, and Rocky (You get the others as you progress through the game). You get different types of bombs depending on which partner you have at the time and you will lose that partner momentarily (so you can't just keep tossing them) after you have thrown them. You only really use "bombs" on bosses and to use them, you must throw your partner at the boss. You can't dash anymore and they changed the bomb system this time around. You still have Pocky and Rocky, but you also have Little Ninja, Bomber Bob, Tengy, Scarecrow, Digger, and Ottobot, and they all have different abilities. The game is still two players, but there are many differences between Pocky & Rocky 2 and Pocky & Rocky. I also think that it's pretty cute when Pocky says "Magic!" so the graphics and the sound are still top notch as far as SNES games go.

The sound is still excellent and of high quality and now there are more BGMs. To balance this, the game has cooler special effects.huge flame pillars, green waves when using magic, a massive water geyser with fish flying into the air.great stuff! Colors don't seem AS sharp and as a whole, the game still looks excellent, but there is a small but noticeable drop in the quality of the graphics as far as the backdrops. However, if you look closely, the graphics are actually less detailed than the first game.
